Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Excellent   July 18, 2008

Fast shipping, excellent product. My mother in law loves licorice and was so thrilled with this piece of her past that she wouldn't even share.

4 out of 5 stars Sweet Nostalgia   April 21, 2008

A while back somebody sent me an e-mail quiz which asked which of the following products, names, fads, etc you remember from when you were a teen in the 50s. That person said that they remembered everything but Black Jack chewing gum. I did remember it and wondering what happened to it I put a search on the internet and to my surprise found that it was still around and available for sale.
So I ordered it from Candy Crate and it came very quickly which impressed me. I now have the pleasure of handing out packs of Black Jack gum to amaze all those of my age group. Love the expression on their faces.

5 out of 5 stars Smooth and sweet, and never harsh   November 15, 2005

Black Jack gum is actually the oldest flavored gum in the United States! It was originally developed in 1884 by Thomas Adams of Staten Island, New York, and was the first gum to be sold in stick shape. Adams' is also the maker of Chiclets, and was acquired by Cadbury Company in 2003.

Black Jack is a great gum. It has a nice smooth licorice flavor that is quite smooth and sweet, and never harsh, unlike some other licorice candies. Chewing Black Jack gum is like experiencing licorice for the first time, all over again!

When I was young, a local drug store carried a wide range of candies, including Black Jack gum. Whenever I could I would go and buy a pack, and to this day the Black Jack taste takes me back to my youth and that drug store with the giant racks of candy.

So, if you want a great gum that tastes like no other gum out there, then buy Black Jack gum. It's fantastic!
